A SIMPLE PLEA
Late at night when all is still.
I close my eyes until
I’m able to hear,
The cries and tears
-Of every man-woman-child’s fear.
They are but a simple plea.
Throughout the oceans
And over the seas,
A wish for freedom,
-The chance to be free.
From the children,
We hear a plea to only be,
A wish to eat, starvation extinct,
A plea to all -please bridge the link.
Humanity’s come far
From our early days,
But every step we take
With two back we pay.
I wish and long
To believe in humanity,
But alas, with closed eyes,
I fear, we shall forever see!
